Biography
Born in Tenerife (Spain), Borja Romero moved to Zaragoza and graduated there in Orchestral Conducting with Miquel Rodrigo and Borja Quintas and in Choral Conducting with Elena Ruiz, making him one of the first trained conductors of the Canary Islands. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Wind Band Conducting at Conservatorium Maastricht in The Netherlands with Jos Zegers as a professor.
He is the main conductor of Harmonie Amicitia Vilt as well as second conductor of Philharmonie Sittard, both in The Netherlands. He has been the chief conductor of Agrupación Musical 'Delicias' (Zaragoza, Spain) from 2018 until 2022.

He has recently been awarded with the 'Bilbao Musika' International Conducting Award after the final in which he conducted the Banda Municipal de Bilbao. For this reason, in the 2024/25 season he will attend one of their concerts as guest conductor with this orchestra.

In addition to his role as a conductor, he dedicates part of his work to the composition of music for wind orchestras. His works have been premiered, awarded, and recorded by high-level wind bands such as 'La Oliva' from Salteras (Sevilla), 'Maestro Tejera', or 'Las Cigarreras', also from Sevilla.
His training as a journalist has also allowed him to approach musicological research, mainly focused on the genre of the processional march.
